Hi All!!!
I am sorry I haven't sent out any updates lately but I'm back! I hope Irene wasn't too rough on any of you and all of the cleanups were minimal. I have a few things for your calendars....
1. This weekend I am tagging along again with some of the greatest people I've met all summer heading to the Colluden. If any of you would like to tag along with me I would love it. Please see the link below.
http://www.aquaexplorers.com/shipwreckculloden.htm. Please let me know if you would like to come.
2. Don't forget out next Club Meeting is Monday September 12, 2011 at 7pm. I am looking forward to seeing you there. This should be another great meeting. Frank Copren will be speaking about drysuits and sizing some of us for trial runs at a later date.
3. Saturday September 24, 2011 will finally be the Beach Cleanup/BBQ that I have been spreading rumors about since the first meeting. lol. It will be at Hobart Beach, Eatons Neck at 12:30pm. Divers will be cleanup in the water and non-divers working the beach. Both spots are important to keep clean. Please everyone coming contribute something to the BBQ. Bring hamburgers, hot dogs, chips or drinks. Whatever you can bring will be helpful. Mike is bringing a grill.
4. We tried to dive Monday at OBI and noticed that the rocks have shifted so there is no safe path to the beach with full gear on. If anyone would like to setup a rock moving party maybe we can go there one day and recreate a safe way to the water. Please let me know.
5. CLUB HALLOWEEN PARTY!!!!!! Friday October 28, 2011 at 8pm. It is a costume party so come prepared. The cost is $25 per person that includes food and open bar. Please let me know if you can attend. Non club members are welcome. I am so excited about celebrating with all of you! We will have to have a costume contest. Anyone dressing as anything scuba gets points off. lol I can't wait to see how creative you can all be! I've already got a plan for mine. :)
6. I am planning a dive called "The GaGa Dive" This dive is going to be a night dive at Ponquogue Bridge. It is being setup because one of our members is always stuck working during our scheduled dives so we are setting up a special dive for him. I will let you know the date and time of this dive in the next few days.
I would like to reiterate the purpose of this club. It is "For the divers, by the divers". Each one of you is worth my time. If I can help you get diving, I will! Please feel free to ask me for help setting up dives. "The GaGa Dive" is a perfect example of how OUR club works. You all are great! Thank you for all of the help and encouragement. Safe diving!!!!
Lisa
P.S Anyone who can help me with the Halloween Party and Beach Cleanup I would appreciate it. I want them to rock!
